Situated in Powys, Mid Wales, Treflys Community Council covers the rural villages of Garth and Beulah.

In the Middle Ages, Treflys was a "Cwmwd" within the Cantref of Buellt. 

Garth

Garth lies on the A483 road between Builth Wells and Beulah . The River Irfon flows through the village and Garth has a small railway station on the Heart of Wales Line. 

In Garth two ancient tombstones can be found that are believed to be the graves of Welsh princes. Visitors to Garth can find the nearby Llanlleonfel Church. This was the location where Sarah Gwynne married Charles Wesley (English leader of the Methodist sect).

Beulah

Beulah is a village in southern Powys, Wales, situated on the Afon Cammarch. The village  the main A483 road about 8 miles south west of Builth Wells.

It benefits from both a pub and service station with attached shop. The parish church Eglwys Oen Duw ("Lamb of God"), built in 1867, can be found a mile outside of the village.

Beulah is famous for the native Beulah Speckled Faced Sheep.


Beulah Sheep

Beulah and the surrounding area is famous for the Beulah Speckled Face domestic breed of sheep. Having been bred in the uplands of Wales for more than a hundred years, a breed society was officially formed in 1958.
